OBJECTIVES

On completion of the Certificate Course In X-Ray Technician course students will be able to:

  1. Can perform X-rays of all parts precisely.
  2. Is able to develop film.
  3. Can administer contrast & is able to handle adverse reactions to it.
  4. Is well aware of Radiation Hazards & protection measures.
  5. Can read basics of various X-rays.
  6. Verifying patients’ identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
  7. Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
  8. Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.
  9. Positioning patients accordingly, this may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
  10. Limiting patients’ exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
  11. Ensuring that the x-rays taken care of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
  12. Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.
  13. Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.
  14. Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
  15. Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

Certificate Course in X-Ray Technician is to educate health care providers to become caring, sensitive X-Ray Technician who value lifelong learning and who practice safely and responsibly with knowledge, integrity, and respect for human dignity.
